How can I help my anxious child?

Anxiety is the brain’s alarm system working overtime. Calmness is the best teacher.

What to do, step by step:

  1. Name the worry.
“Your body feels nervous because your brain is trying to protect you.”
  2. Normalize it.
    “Everyone feels worried sometimes.”
  3. Breathe together.
“Let’s do dragon breaths—deep in, blow out the fire.”
  4. Celebrate courage.
“You were scared, but you still tried—that’s brave.”
